The Electric Vehicle Alternative

Automania have invested heavily in 100% electric vehicles over recent months and can offer your landslide or airside business new Nissan Electric Leaf or eNV200 Acenta Panel Van vehicles.

The choice of the Nissan brand by ourselves was very specific and reached only after a prolonged period of reviewing the market place.

As well as the normal Nissan reliability you have come to expect, with a 90 – 105 mile maximum range that suits real-world usage patterns, a good-sized boot/van space and plenty of room inside, the battery-powered Nissan vehicle is a genuine replacement for petrol and diesel-powered small business use. Additionally, If you’re caught short’, you can plug into one of the increasing numbers of public charge points and gain an 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

The minimal cost of recharging combined with zero emissions mean very low running costs too – you won’t have to pay road tax or congestion charge if you’re heading into London, and BiK rates are low for company car drivers.

Overall, the operating costs is less than 2p a mile, compared to the 10p a mile of an equivalent petrol car/small diesel van.

Coupled with full maintenance from ourselves (typically on a 3 year operating lease), the electric option is a compelling one:

Congestion Charge: the eNV200 and Leafs are exempt from this charge saving £10.00/£11.50 per day per vehicle.

Fuel Charge: 2p per mile charge compared to circa 10p per mile. On an average monthly mileage of 1,000 miles, this represents a saving of at least £150 – £170 per month per vehicle.

Benefit In Kind: for those staff allowed to use the vehicles privately, a tax charge of only 5% per annum.

Corporate Social Responsibility: a 100% green fleet with zero emissions; a market leading statement.

Brand Conformity: a fleet of identical vehicles and age profile.

Future Proofing: regarding legislation compliance.

One of the key issues raised with electric vehicles is the proximity to charging points. However, with a number of charging options available, ‘mileage anxiety’ need not be as issue:

30 Minutes Quick Charging

Every Nissan vehicle features a Rapid Charge Port, allowing you to plug into a rapid charger and reach up to 80% charge in 30 minutes. This is the fastest method available and is ideal for when you want to top up your charge or make a longer journey.

A full list of where such chargers are can be found at: https://www.zap-map.com/live/

Work/Home Charging Unit

Charge overnight using a 32A home charging unit and reach full charge in approximately seven hours (24kWh). With the optional 6.6kW on-board charger you can reduce this time to just four hours for the 24kWh battery.

Mains Charging

The most conventional way of charging your Nissan vehicle is via the supplied cable, which plugs directly into a regular domestic supply. This allows you to charge anywhere there is a standard wall socket with a full charge taking circa 12 hours.
